In the Land of Cotton





Minutes later we were back on the horse headed back down the dirt road. Again, I had my head buried in Silas's back. This time it wasn't to avoid the dust, this time it was to hid my tears. I didn't care about the line in the sand; I just wanted to be with Silas even if it meant I'd burn at the bottom of one of those crosses.
